Our topic for this month is: DNA – an Exciting Tool for Genealogists: Discussion of types of DNA tests, testing companies and how DNA testing can be useful for genealogy. We will try to de-mystify DNA and answer your questions regarding if you should pursue DNA testing to further your family history plus some ideas on how to interpret your results once you have tested. Speakers: Claire Smith-Burns and Barb MacWilliams.
If you are scratching your head over DNA, this is the workshop
for you! Also, if you’ve been involved in DNA testing, we’d love to hear
from you. Come early to use the KDGS Family & Local History
Resource Centre – there’s lots of new material on our shelves as well
as other great resources to help you with your research! Parking is plentiful
and free after 6pm in the Library Parkade. Note: the driveway into
the Parkade is now open (but you must exit the way you came in) – no more
driving along the sidewalks!!
Everyone Welcome! Free
